As a lot of you may have found out, on Saturday, October 5th, I attended Crystal Miller’s Be Bold Be You Brunch as a vendor. Yes, a vendor.
Earlier this year I started my business, Chey Butter Co. and kept it under wraps due to fear, anxiety and my need for perfection. After messaging Crystal back and forth about whether I should attend the brunch as a guest or as a vendor, she encouraged me to just GO FOR IT and I did! But I was not ready in every sense of the word whether mentally, physically, spiritually... I did not think I’d be prepared to launch. My anxiety was so high that I stayed up the entire night and went straight to the venue to set up. I’m shaking, I’m terrified and I’m feeling like my business is going to fail before I even make my first sale. Thank God for Britani Rose, she was my first customer and my anxiety went down more than halfway. I’m like, “okay, I can do that a few more times”, which ended up being 18 more times! I think the moment I overcame my anxiety completely was when I sold several of my products to SERAYAH MCNEILL! Yes, from the show Empire! My first day and I’m already reaching celebrity customers? OKAY, NOW I’M FEELING MYSELF! 🤗
As the brunch went on, I became even more motivated, inspired and determined to take my business to the next level. Hearing stories from entrepreneurs like Lex Michelle and Ashleigh M. Pie and how much they had to go through to get to where they’re at today, lets me know that everybody’s entrepreneurial journey will be different. Listening to everyone’s testimony reminded me of what my WHY is and they made me realize how much I need to focus on my vision and not lose sight of that.
Crystal, thank you so much for having such an amazing organization and hosting such a motivating event for us women to connect on so many different levels. I am so incredibly grateful for you allowing me to step outside of my comfort zone and overcome my fears of being a businesswoman—it was one of the most uncomfortable moments of my life but one of the most memorable moments of my life too! I am so thankful for you.
